What a transition time, full of inquiry, exploration, discovery, and anticipation of promise for the future! Serving as the transition between lower and upper school, middle school has as its emphasis to provide a secure bridge, while preparing students for rigorous college preparatory class offerings. It is during middle school that students explore options or begin to determine their strengths and weaknesses.
Caribbean I School instruction highlights elements relevant to transition, self-identity, decision-making, character, writing skills, test-taking, and the like. Special emphasis is placed on identifying a preferred subject area, as it relates to possible career choice and preparation for high school. Consistent with that preparation, advanced eighth grade students have the opportunity to take several courses for high school credit.
